One of the larger rice bran oil refineries in India - refining, dewaxing, packaging, solvent extraction, and a quality lab, all on the same site.

The plant

Our Rania plant is one of the larger rice bran oil refineries in North India by installed capacity. The site is built around a 700 TPD refinery, with a captive solvent extraction unit, a dewaxing and winterisation block for rice bran oil, 14 dedicated packaging lines for tin, jar, PET, and bulk formats, and an in-house quality lab. Husk-fired boilers and an on-site ETP support the refinery around the clock.

Process

Refining at Rania covers both physical and chemical refining, developed and optimised in-house over two decades. Rice bran oil is physically refined, while soybean and cottonseed oils go through caustic neutralization. The main process areas are degumming, neutralization, bleaching, deodorization, dewaxing and winterization, and packaging. Each stage is monitored by our in-house lab team, with samples drawn and tested at fixed control points before release.

Qualified buyers are welcome to visit and walk the plant with our technical team. For commercial sensitivity reasons we do not publish detailed process parameters.

Utilities and infrastructure

Boilers and energy

All boilers at the Rania facility are fired entirely on rice husk, a renewable biomass we source from paddy mills around the plant. The setup is licensed under PESO for the storage of supporting fuels and process solvents.

Cooling

Barometric cooling towers handle bulk process cooling, with a dedicated ammonia-based chilling circuit serving the crystallizers.

Water and effluent

Plant water is drawn from on-site borewells and treated through a reverse-osmosis unit. Steam condensate is recovered and recirculated. Process effluent is treated in an on-site effluent treatment plant in compliance with UPPCB norms.

Solvent extraction

We operate an on-site solvent extraction unit to recover residual oil from spent bleaching earth. Hexane storage is PESO-licensed (License No. P/HQ/UP/15/4847).

Quality laboratory

We run an in-house quality lab at the Rania site. On every lot of oil and wax we test oil content, free fatty acid, moisture, melting point, iodine value, saponification value, and colour. Each batch is tested before it leaves the plant, and every shipment goes out with a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis. Where a buyer needs additional parameters such as peroxide value, congealing point, or trace metals, we arrange testing through a third-party NABL-accredited lab.

Renewable energy

All boilers at Rania are fired on rice husk, sourced from paddy mills around our plant. Husk is a renewable biomass and a by-product of the same rice milling chain that supplies our bran feedstock - the supply is circular by design.

Water and effluent

Plant water comes from on-site borewells and is treated through a reverse-osmosis unit. Steam condensate is recovered and looped back into the boiler feed. Process effluent is treated in an on-site ETP and meets UPPCB norms before discharge.

Waste recovery

Spent bleaching earth from refining is solvent-extracted on-site to recover residual oil. De-oiled earth is sold to local horticulture and brick-kiln buyers. Rice husk ash from the boilers is collected and sold to cement blenders and brick manufacturers.
